Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup finely chopped cabbage

1/2 cup grated carrots

2 green onions, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

3 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sriracha (optional, for heat)

1 pack of wonton wrappers

Oil for frying

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Once heated, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add ground chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in chopped cabbage, grated carrots, green onions, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha, if using. Cook for additional 3-4 minutes until the veggies have softened. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

While the filling is cooling, heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C) for frying the wonton wrappers.

Take one wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center. Wet the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, and press to seal. Optionally, you can create pleats on the sides for a decorative touch.

Fry the filled wontons in the hot oil, a few at a time, for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serve the wonton tacos hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges on the side for squeezing.

Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 30 mins | Servings: 4-6 (approx. 24 wonton tacos)
