Ingredients

1 cup fresh blueberries

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

4 cups water (divided)

Lemon slices for garnish

Fresh blueberries for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of blueberries and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until the blueberries have burst and released their juices.

Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the blueberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, discarding the solids. You should have a vibrant blueberry juice.

In a large pitcher, combine the blueberry juice, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Add the remaining 3 cups of water to the pitcher and mix until combined. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more sugar or water.

Chill the blueberry lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with lemon slices and fresh blueberries. Enjoy your refreshing drink!
