Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp ginger, minced

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

2 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Make the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, minced ginger, and green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Meatballs: Using clean hands, form the mixture into bite-sized meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

Prepare the Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, in a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, hoisin sauce, sriracha, and sesame oil until well combined.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce: Once the meatballs are done, add them to the sauce in the bowl and gently toss until they are well coated.

Serve: Transfer the sauced meatballs to a serving platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and additional chopped green onions. Serve warm with steamed rice or as a scrumptious appetizer.
