Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut brioche or challah bread

2 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional for drizzling)

Fresh berries or sliced bananas for garnish

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.

Once the butter is melted and bubbling, dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated.

Place the coated bread slices in the skillet. Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

Remove the cooked toast and set it aside on a plate. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter and brown sugar. Allow it to melt and bubble for about 1 minute.

Return the cooked French toast slices to the skillet, coating them with the caramelized mixture for about 30 seconds on each side.

Serve immediately, drizzled with maple syrup and garnished with fresh berries or sliced bananas. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
