Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

    - In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warmed milk and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

      - In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Make a well in the center.

        - Add the melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

          - Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

            Prepare the Apple Filling:

              - In a medium bowl, mix together the diced apples, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

                Assemble the Rolls:

                  - Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

                    - Spread the softened butter over the dough, then evenly sprinkle the apple mixture (and nuts if using) on top.

                      - Starting from one of the long edges, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.

                        - Cut the roll into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

                          Bake the Rolls:

                            - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

                              Prepare the Cream Cheese Frosting:

                                - In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. Add milk as needed to achieve desired consistency.

                                  Frost the Rolls:

                                    - Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool for about 10 minutes before generously spreading the cream cheese frosting on top.

                                      Serve and Enjoy:

                                        - Serve warm and indulge in your irresistible apple cinnamon rolls!
