Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or linguine

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 teaspoon Jamaican allspice

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for heat preference)

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccine or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once the butter is melted, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Season with salt and black pepper. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the chopped onion, garlic, and sliced bell peppers. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Stir in the Jamaican allspice, paprika, and cayenne pepper, cooking for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Make the Cream Sauce: Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream to the skillet. Stir for about 2 minutes until the cream is heated through. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring to melt and combine with the cream. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a splash of pasta water to achieve your desired consistency.

Combine: Add the cooked pasta and sautéed shrimp back into the skillet, tossing to coat everything in the creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.

Serve: Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your Jamaican Shrimp Pasta, a perfect blend of creamy, spicy, and flavorful goodness!
